“The city is loud. Your home shouldn’t be.” That line closes the EKTA brochure, and it sums up the project fairly well. Kalapatti, the part of Coimbatore people now call its Silicon Valley, is busy for good reasons, and a home here should give you a quiet place to come back to.

HOW KALAPATTI BECAME THE “SILICON VALLEY”

Not long ago, Kalapatti was a place you passed through on the way to Mettupalayam, Nilgiris, or Sathyamangalam. Colleges and Hospitals came first, then Tech parks, as usual.

Today, SVB Tech Park and Global Tech Park are both within two kilometres of EKTA. Sri Balaji Medical Center is a little over a kilometre away, KMCH Veeriampalayam about three, and the airport 6.8 kilometres down the road. People who work in those offices have been commuting from the far side of the city for years, and many are happy to stop. That is a big reason apartments in Kalapatti keep turning up on so many shortlists.

EKTA: 2,  2.5 & 3 BHK APARTMENT IN COIMBATORE, UP CLOSE

EKTA is a gated community of 78 homes on about an acre of land. All units are oriented facing north or east, and the dwellings are not designed with common walls between them, with the result that each unit enjoys both air and green views.

The 2 BHK apartment in Coimbatore at EKTA has a spacious size of 1292 to 1309 sq ft, with the majority of the extra space being in the long hall and dining area. If you’re looking for a study or a kid’s room but not quite ready for a full 3 BHK, then you should consider a 2.5 BHK of around 1444 to 1472 square feet.

The 3 BHK apartments in Coimbatore range from almost 1487 sq. ft. to 1678 sq. ft., and there are a few layouts in between. Once a family moves out of a two-bedroom flat, one of the three will fit.

They’re pretty self-explanatory: the 2 BHK fits a young couple or a small family who live nearby, the 2.5 BHK fits someone who works from home a few days a week, the 3 BHK fits anyone who wants a bedroom each and some space on top.

WHAT COMES BUILT IN

The apartment includes the following amenities, which are not listed separately.

Biometric access to the digital lock on the main door. All parking spaces are equipped with an EV charging provision. Power backup is for your lights, fans, and kitchen fridge socket; if it is cut back in Coimbatore, it is a slight inconvenience rather than a spoiled evening. The building is built with an RCC frame structure with 200 mm wall thickness, floors made up of large-size vitrified matte finish premium tiles, and concealed plumbing and wiring, with gas pipes to each unit.

You don’t have to drill into freshly painted walls in April; they have AC provisions in the bedrooms and living room. The treated water after ultra-filtration from the sewage treatment plant is used for flushing toilets and gardening, while plans are in place to harvest rainwater.

Wait a year or two after move-in, and that’s when the “premium” is put to the test in the apartments in Coimbatore.

LIFE BEYOND THE FRONT DOOR

The community side is better thought through than most. There is a fully equipped gym, an indoor games area for carrom, table tennis and chess, and a 100-seater multipurpose hall with a rooftop dining area for celebrations or the weekends when someone is hosting. A children’s play area, landscaped gardens, and a jogging track cover the rest of the day.

There is also an indoor shuttle court, which we suspect will be booked faster than the gym. Security runs on CCTV, a manned cabin with an intercom, and a boom barrier at the entrance. There are separate Entry & Exit Gates, as there are roads on 2 sides of EKTA.
